CHASING HOME

In the spring of 2022, following two years of my creative pursuit, the Russian-Ukrainian war turned my world upside down. The emotional turmoil I was experiencing was overwhelming. I stopped painting.

When I picked up the painting brush again, a clear intention was formed, followed by weeks of playing and experimenting. What emerged was a series of paintings deeply rooted in my childhood memories – the way I saw and painted the landscapes of my homeland growing up in Eastern Ukraine.

While these works are undoubtedly influenced by the diversity of the landscapes I have encountered over the last two decades in the US, France, Italy, and the UAE, this collection of paintings pays homage to the notion and feeling of home. I hope those who view and live with these paintings will get connected to their own feeling of home as well.
